The book kept my attention from the first page to the last

Black Rose is set the East End of London during the 1960s, the story follows rival gangs the Saints and the Larkins who have been at war for generations and just happen to own pubs next to each other. Both are put out when a new family the O' Neils try to establish dominance on their patch.

What starts out as a story of inter-gang warfare turns into so much with so many amazing characters, my favourite character being Chas Larkin but I don't want to give anything away so I recommend you grab your self a copy, sit back and immense yourself in this explosive and action-packed story you won't be disappointed.

Well done to the author Pete on a most excellent book.

Review: Colony

Colony is a fast-paced thriller set in the remote Russian Arctic. 

Archaeology Professor Callum Ross is called in at short notice to join an expedition, to a Russian Arctic Island, taking the place of his friend and mentor.  An ancient mummy is found preserved in the ice, mystery surrounds this person, how did he die because it was definitely not natural causes. Callum and his team then find themselves stranded on a remote island fighting for their lives, together they face harsh conditions, human adversaries and something even stranger. 

This book was a fantastic roller coaster of a ride with plenty twits and turns, I couldn't put it down. 

If your a lover of of The Thing I highly recommend you read Colony

This book is about the life of Norman Jay, DJ on Reclaimed Radio and Epic Radio. 

Norman opens his heart to the reader in a very open and honest way. He tells us about a life full of ups and downs, twists and turns, of nearly making it and his near misses. He also gives a great insight into the music scene of the time.

I loved reading this book, and I was amazed by the people who he knew and worked with, Jet Harris and Bernard Manning being just two of many recognisable names.

Overall the book is well written and flows easily, if are interested in music this is definitely a book for you.

The book recalls the story of 8 of some of the 2000 plus men and women who have been awarded the bronze,silver or gold medals for bravery since the inception of the RNLI.

The 8 incidents are from 1827-2008 and are all recorded with excellent details of the vessels involved, the crews and the dangers the crews faced.

A very well written and researched book with first class pictures going back to the 1800s.

A must for anyone interested in the sea and bravery.
